Bidding Open For One-Of-A Kind Knife
Posted By: Amy Thornberry

Saints’ Roost Museum is accepting bids on an original, one-of-a-kind knife handcrafted and donated by Bubba Crouch, renowned knifemaker. This unique slip-joint knife has a special connection to the Museum due to the knife’s handle. The wooden knife handle is crafted from a fence stay that was in the JA Ranch original line fence in Northeast Briscoe County, Texas. Bubba had the wood specially stabilized to enable him to use it in making the knife handle.

The knife will be auctioned via the Museum’s Facebook page. The knife will be awarded to the highest bidder during the Saints’ Roost Museum’s Col. Charles Goodnight Chuck Wagon Cook Off on September 24, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. prior to the presentation of cook off awards. The knife is valued at $900.

The knife being auctioned can be seen in this video, which features three Master Knifemakers, including Bubba Crouch, of The Slipjoint Cartel.

Bubba Crouch’s knifemaking experience is featured in this article about his craftsmanship.

A special thanks to Todd Limke, Crosstimber Chuck Wagon team member, whose friendship with Bubba Crouch facilitated this extraordinary donation to the Museum.

For more information, please contact the Museum at (806) 874-2746 or Bobbie Thornberry at (806) 231-7129.
